The title of the work, Canına kıyılır mi (“could you harm your own life?”), leaves open the question of who might wound whose life. Canım (“my life”) is a common term of endearment for loved ones. It could refer to the protagonist of the series, or just as well to nature itself, as it appears in the photographs opposite.
